Hi Vtol,
You will not be sorry. I would suggest watching the videos (help=>movies)that come with xara first. After about two minutes familiarizing yourself with the tools, then head to Gary's xaraxone and do one of over 100 tutorials. After several tuts, you will be able to hit the gropund running and do some amazing graphics in less time that it takes to load photopaint.
check out the stop and post posts in the xara gallery for some of the fantastic artwork that the users here create with xara x1.
X3D5 is a more versitile tool than MM. Designed mainly for animated text, you can still create some really neat 3D graphics with it.
PS... MM is a childs tool compared to xara X1! This program kicks a$$!

Ive just been getting into Xara as well, its actually got me enthusiastic about doing some 2D illustration again! Unlike Illustrator, which I learned, and forgot about soon after.
( I do mostly 3D work in my full time job)
Actually, I never realised there was a special offer for Xara 3D though. I purchace X1 a week or so ago, but seemed to have overlooked that one. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

email kate... She might be able to help you out with this...

Xara's offers are often only for a short period of time so you might have missed out on it by a few days.

Hi Vtol,
Xara UI is what makes it so fantastic. Instead of have 1 tool for ever task, xara has made 1 tool function as several. Watch the movies, you should be okay. Do not assume xara is just like other drawing apps. It is better and easier. I have lots too, and always come running back to xara.

I hope you mean't X1, not XU, I'd starve if I had to buy another program this year !!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

No... Nooo... I am sorry! I meant Xara User Interface (UI - the buttons and over abundance or the proper anmout of buttons). I felt lazy and did not want to spell it all out. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
