Xara affiliate experiment with Gadgets
A little update of my experiment with Windows sidebar Gadget (Windows Vista and Windows 7) to promote a bit the Xara products:
FlipClock: 17898 Downloads
LostClock: 1614 Downloads
Results
84 persons is not bad at all and 3 even downloaded a trial. I suspect that 80% of those people arrived from the lostclock but the statistics are really too basic: there should be at least single codes for different sources to discriminate a bit where the traffic came from (Im not asking for people IP or the complete xara.com stats :) ).

Hi Ciroip.
I just tried the Lost Clock.
The size is huge.
Good graphics and design but not useable.

oh, thanks you for testing it: and yes, that one is mostly a joke just to 'celebrate' the begin of Lost's final season... the technical level of the sidebar gadget community is pretty low and Microsoft put virtually no barrier to whatever people upload there. Apple have a lot to teach to everyone on that field.
The 2 gadgets are mainly just an excuse to show up and promote a bit the xara programs to new people and spread around a bit my name like a sort of living resume :)
Re: Xara affiliate experiment with Gadgets
I tried to download the flipclock but could get my computer to open it. Is there a fix?
Thanks

ehm, the thread is going a bit offtopic for the forum (we should talk about xara xtreme here) anyway the things are simple gadgets and this mean they can run only under Windows Vista or Windows 7).
Re: Xara affiliate experiment with Gadgets
Then that is the problem, I am running the XP os. Thanks for the information.
