export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
i keep getting this export error... anyone please HELP!
"An unkown error occurred while accessing an unnamed file"
(A red circle with a white "X" is at the begining of this error message.)
then when i x out of this error message this pops up...
"error from Xtreme Pro"
"An error occurred (file does not exist) when opening the file.
"OK" and "Help" buttons are at the bottom of this error message to click.
i just updated my version to the newest version 4.0.1 and the same error message.
BUT, i can export the same file out of an older version of Xtreme(not pro)

"EGG"
thank you for the quick response!
i attached 2 files below for you to see.
i have xara extreme xara3d6 and XPro4... should i remove xara extreme or it doesnt matter?
i cleaned up my hard drive/ disk, defragged, ran norton (no viruses) checked for updates Microsoft, & Xara... updated to 4.0.01 cd version
this computer is pretty clean very low internet use mainly just for xara, pics, work.
do you think i should just unistall and reinstall XPro4 and just see what happens or do you think it may be somethingelse?
"EGG" thanks again
Frank

Re: export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
Your files open without problems here (except I don't have @Kozuka Gothic Pro H font installed)
There is no issue with having multiple Xara applications installed, Xtreme, 3D6 or Web Designer all install into their own subfolder in the Xara program files directory.
Your error message could mean a number of things, personally I would suspect a HDD or RAM issue.
I recommend you run some hardware diagnostics
Re: export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
again thank you for the quick response!
i don't have a problem opening them i have a problem exporting them.
do you still think it's a hdd / ram???
i have a 300gb hdd only half full
thanks again!

Re: export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
What format are you trying to export to, can you give me more info on what you were trying to do?
I just tried jpg and PDF without a problem - but this may not be what you want.
Re: export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
hello, and thanks again!
yes, just a simple jpeg
i create logos, business cards, banners, postcards, etc... i never had a problem with XARA Extreme 1, 2, 3, then i upgraded to XPRO4 and everthing was fine and then error, error, error. i upgraded to the 4.0.01 a couple nights ago to see if it was just a bug, but still the same.
i create all my work in xara and then just export to jpeg so i can email to clients, but when i did this shirt for this web company and tried to export that is when i got into all these errors. i didnt do anything thing different from before.
i read your last post about the registry i know i never patched or cleaned that... i talked to somebody at staples(office store)4-5 months ago he said those things really didnt work. do you have any good experience with them?
at this point ill try anything
how do you feel about unistall / reinstall XPro4
thanks again frank
Re: export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
Hi Frank,
Where are you trying to export the jpg file, which folder on your hard drive?
No error occured when I exported to my designated export folder.
An uninstall and reinstall may be the quickest method for correcting the problem if it is related to Xtreme.
However it may be some permissions on your destination folder have become corrupt.
Re: export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
hello and thanks for the response!
i normally just make a new folder on my desktop. and name something short. after i'm done with emailing it i just delete it and pretty much just save under xara files then export again when the customer is ready to print. very simple, i think. just so i dont have all these double files.
thanks,
Frank
Re: export error messages Xtreme PRO 4
Frank, have you tried exporting it to your hard drive or another location (usb drive) and see if you're getting the same error. Both files exported fine for me too so it would appear to be your system.
