Better Color Printing to HP DeskJet Printer
I was doing some prints from my HP Deskjet printer and the colors were too light. I decided to try printing with some different Color Options in the Color section of my printer software.
I tried all the options (there weren't all that many) and the one that worked best for me was Color Smart/sRGB. The color prints were very very close to my screen colors.
Re: Better Color Printing to HP DeskJet Printer
Can you supply a link to the Officejet 6500?
I can't seem to find any reference information on that model. HP doesn't seem to acknowledge its existence.
I have a a HP Officejet 5400, but I wanted to see if the two printers are comparable before doing a test.
Thanks,
- Andy
Re: Better Color Printing to HP DeskJet Printer
I have also found that HPs own colour printer setting, with some programs can produce better prints, than using colour managed settings with full profiles.
At the moment I have a HP90 and HP9180 printers.

Re: Better Color Printing to HP DeskJet Printer
The settings would be in the Printer Setup dialog.
You can access these setting either from File > Printer Setup > Properties... or from the Print dialog, Printer: > Properties.... Try the different settings and see which setting works best.
I would have thought that Application Managed Color would have been more accurate since I was printing out of Xtreme but that setting produced a denser and darker color with a hard shift towards red.
