Please help testing with a PDF file
I'm having someone angrily complaining to me that he cannot read a PDF which I exported from Xara. I'd appreciate it if some fellow Xara users can give it a try and let me know if you can't open it correctly.
*He said the file is opened "empty" in his Adobe Reader V7. But I can't reproduce the problem at all in all the PDF readers/makers I have tested with.
Here's the PDF in question...

Re: Please help testing with a PDF file
Opens fine with Adobe Reader 8.1 viewer *within* Opera web browser as well as what has already be confirmed above.
Your angry customer needs to update.

Re: Please help testing with a PDF file
Thanks to everyone for testing it out.
sledger's link seems very likely to be the culprit. Many thanks again.
Re: Please help testing with a PDF file
hmmm...he still insists that he can read all other PDF files he comes across on the whole planet just fine, except for this one. (I take it that means he refuses to take any actions on his part by, say, adjusting his settings or downloading any patches/updaters)
Does anyone have any other thoughts? :(
Re: Please help testing with a PDF file
Try converting all text to editable shapes (note: text can look odd in Adobe Reader, but is prints perfectly), and save out as PDF v 1.3 rather than 1.4
Otherwise send him 6 pages as .jpg ;)
Any browser will open those....
He's sounds like (too) many of my customers. They are unable to learn anything new because they know it all already.. :(
Re: Please help testing with a PDF file
Oh one other thing. On page 1 you have a spelling error.
'Maize Sampler supports keyswithing'
I haven't read through the rest of the PDF though - that one just caught my eye.
Re: Please help testing with a PDF file
sledger, that's a good suggestion. I'll change the text and lower the version for him. Also thanks for spotting the spelling error. There must be more and if you come across any, please feel free to point out. :)
You know, he is not a customer yet. He is a potential customer. Anyhow I still have to handle him properly. :)
