Signature
Thought I would sign my images.
I wrote my name with a black felt pen, and scanned it in grayscale. A little tone adjustment to make the background very white. Save this to JPG.
Loaded the image into XXP, and snapped a rectangle to the image .
Set the rectangle to no line.
Filled the rectangle from the fill gallery with a tile color that would work with the image.
With the rectangle object selected, selected the grayscale image from the bitmap gallery and hit transparent.
Deleted the on screen grayscale image with the white background.
Now, I can change color as desired by changing the fill color.

Re: Signature
Rich,
That's a nifty idea for a signature.
Great picture, I like the depth of field.
Was that from the photo, or created with Xara?

Bob.

Re: Signature
Bob,
A photo modified in XXP using an Akvis Sketch render in front, and an elptical saturation transparency over the dragon fly.
I made a bitmap copy of the render, and made it self transparent from the bitmap gallery. Then drew a rectangle in front, and set to satruation transparency. Then adjusted the gray using the color editor to refine the saturation effect. Then used an eliptical transparency to have the saturation only affect the dragonfly.

Re: Signature
Rich,
Thanks for the information.
You have an in-depth working knowledge of Xara,
I think your work is oustanding.
I'll have to check our Akvis Sketch.

Re: Signature
XXP, Mezzoforce Ice and Sketch. This was resaturated with a freehand brush set to saturation transparency. You can vary the brush shade and level of transparency. Black will desaturate and white will resaturate.
I made a filled circular object and applied circular transparency. Made a bitmap copy of the circle so that I could apply saturation transparency. Drew with the brush and adjusted the fill properities. Set the saturation lever and tried the brush. Then set most recent attributes. Always do this last or it won't work. Then paint and adjust the saturation percentage as desired. I made a bitmap copy and applied Mezzoforce Ice plugin for another transparency layer.
Guess you looked in the Graphic Gallery sub forum Photography for the other images.

Re: Signature
I like the Dragon fly very much Rich, real sharp. Fine on the signature as well I wonder if you have any spare cheque books lying around? Maybe we could forge a new frienship.
