Never works like in the video tutorials!
I watched the video tutorial making animated flash banners in Xtreme Pro and promptly upgraded my copy of Xtreme to Xtreme Pro 'cos the video makes it look sooooo easy! Now I've created a logo using Xtreme which I copied into a new Xtreme Pro anim, made a new frame, changed a few bits and pressed the Preview Flash in Browser button. The result is:
---------------------------------------------------------
The following cannot be exported:
Frame 1: Single tile bitmap transparency
Frame 1: Feathering
Frame 1: Group transparency.
The following can only be exported with SWF version 8:
Frame 1: Non round line caps and joins.
---------------------------------------------------------
It refuses to render transparency and display like a GIF although it is previewed as a SWF. The logo is based on a "gel button".
I just tried creating a basic anim moving the word "hello" around and changing colour with each frame, no feathering or transparency and no shadow. It worked fine but there was no tweening at all.
The whole thing is created with Xara software, so does anyone know where I'm going wrong? Thank you.
Re: Never works like in the video tutorials!
Very few programs support all the features that Xara has available.
Remember to limit your work to Flash capabilities when creating flash files.
Refer to Xtreme Pro Help and find "What Flash can and cannot do".

Ok, the answers...
"What Flash Can't Do" is in the software help files (press F1 while in Xtreme on Windows).
You have to name objects to be animated before you animate them!
I seem to have it all working now though it won't allow transparency on my logo even though it does when I produced a bog standard moving text anim.
