Xara Xtreme on Vista
Hi,
I've recently started using my copy of Xara Xtreme on Windows Vista RC1 (build 5600).
You'll be glad to know that it seems to work fine, except for a couple of startup glitches:
1) It asks you to register and for the CD Key every time you startup, despite having entered it and registered on each previous startup.
2) It then gives you an error messgage which says, mysteriously:
'Internal program error 963.w.re.ry'
You then click Ok and it goes away. Xtreme seems to work fine after this. Anyone know of a fix for this (minor) annoyance?
Cheers,
Dunc

Re: Xara Xtreme on Vista
Hi Dunc,
Turn off User Account Control (UAC). Start the program and enter the requested information. Close the program. Turn User Account Control on to help protect your computer.
With UAC turned on it prevents updates to the registry. The documentation says that a virtual copy of the registry will be created in the user's folder to contain the update. Either the documentation is incorrect (highly probable) or the virtual registry vanishes when the program exits (highly probable).
In either case starting the program with UAC turned off the actual registry is updated.
