I am currently useing photo impact 6.0 What I want to do I create a background tile that goes from red to white to blue. I want it to gradualy blend into the next color. I know that it can be done I am just not sure how. Ever thing I try and look up is not the right thing so I am ask you for help in either what to look up that will tell me how to do it. Or just plain how to do it . Thanks for your help

You're trying to do a linear gradient fill.

i dont use photo impact but from what you are describing i dont think it is possible, that is if you are wanting to create a seamless tile to use as a repeating background. the tile has to be able to repeat and be seamless. what you might need to do is make your background and then export it in slices. i assume you are using this for a web site.
if you make the tile and then once you apply it as your background you will see x-amount of red white and blue tiles. you see what i mean? as you see by the pic that the seamles is not going to work
see pic below for the seamless tile and the other would be your 1024x768 or what ever size then slice and dice. i might be wrong but i dont think i am

But you can make your tile long, horizontally, so that spans the width of the page.

yea that is true didnt think about that. if he does it this way it will actually work out better. he could slice it into 2 elimnate the white so this way it can be resizable in a browser. but then the white can shrink and grow might not look right.

Mike.S and Grafixman thanks for your infor the pic that Mike posted is exactly what I want. I is for a banner on a web site yes. I have to look at the link that you gave me Grafixman and will hopefully have it done soon... I will post the address when I get it done so you all can see the finished product thanks

glad we can help. give a hollar if you need more help.if you are making a banner you dont need a tile. most banners are 468x60 i added another pic of the most popular size banners. these sizes are what is considered the "standard" set by IAB here is their link if you need more info on banner sizes iab banners size you can msake your banners what ever size you need but these are the standards that most people use.
