rgb value differences when going from X to .ai then to .fla
i start in X, export to .ai (so i can import into flash inc layers) but this seems to result in slightly different rgb values?
is this cause .ai is cmyk by default?
also... the dimensions are messed up? it imports way smaller than the original dims in X.
thanks.

Hello Jack,
You are correct, .ai is natively CMYK. You can open an older (version 8 or older) .ai file in any text editor. See first attached image.
The second attachment shows how the shapes look in Xtreme.
The third attachment shows how they look in Illustrator CS3 when the .ai file is opened.
The size difference is due to Adobe products still using a now defunct screen resolution of 72 pixels per inch.

The default is CMYK but you can make also RGB as well. If you are using Xara to export it as PDF then make sure that you select a custom export and don't select PDF/X as it will convert it to CMYK. Then open the file in Illy and then under the File menu the Document Colour Mode change the colour mode. There maybe a very slight change is some colours but it is like 0.3% at the most and most are spot on.

Apart from layers, what's the value of the double export? I always export as .swf from XX and import to Adobe Flash. Colours remain the same as do dimensions.
