Suggestion: multiple blend handles

I couldn't find this suggestion on this board so here goes:

A nice expansion of the current blend tool would be to allow multiple blend handles for 1 blend.

Currently, blending complex shapes gives a weird result because the system calculates which points in shape A should blend into which ones in shape B (except for the two points that the user manually attached with the tool).

With complex shapes, if the user could specify more points in 1 single blend to be attached to eachother, then the resulting blend would end up more like what the user had in mind.
