Corrugated Metal with Text Tutorial Revisited
Back in the day I did a tutorial for placing text on a background of corrugated metal.
I tested my memory to see how much of it I remembered roughly 3 years on.
This method removed the need to re-shape the text and instead using a font that blends into the repeating fill background,
making the whole exercise a lot simpler.
I also made use of the transparency blending Overlay mode that wasn't available at the time on a grunge background.
Those were the days and I for one sure miss 'em.
Bob.

Re: Corrugated Metal with Text Tutorial Revisited
I remember that tutorial Bob, it was a good one. I decided to have a play with the new blending modes and opacity masking to and see just how photo realistic I could get. I also added in rust which wasn't in your original tut.
I've included my .xar file for anyone who wants to have a look or dissect it. :)
Note: this was created in DP V12 (365) while the file will open in older versions features of newer versions will be ignored.

Re: Corrugated Metal with Text Tutorial Revisited
that's a good drawing you did there
could easily mistake it for a photo
the rust is really well done
the text is a bit orange but otherwise very cool image
now just to get the spelling of corrugated right...
