Adobe Illustrator Aligning
First of all, I'm sorry if this is a bad forum, I just made an account looking for help about this problem I'm having.
Attachment 125743
How can I align the second row next to each other as the first row much faster? I have to select both boxes, then align to key object and it's very slow. Also, how to align the chinese characters faster, in the center withouth again having to check the box, the character and then align to key object center?
Please tell me if there is any faster way, and if not, in which program I could do it faster? I have over about 3000 of this boxes and it's taking me 3 hours for 200 hundred, it's really painful.

Welcome to TalkGraphics xAlexandru. TG is basically a Xara Software forum although many of our members have expertise in Illustrator. Unfortunately I'm not understanding your question, can you explain your problem further please?
Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
I want the rectangles to not overlap, as is the first rectangle coloured in yellow and red, but it's really really slow to select them individually, align to key object to one of them and then aligning them and also put the chinese character in the center of the rectangles, it also requires the individual align to key object followed by center. Is there a way to do it faster or an alternative to Illustrator where I can do it faster?
Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
in xara I would select all of the first characters in the vertical and align them to the character on the top, this is one operation - and then repeat for the second characters in the vertical... and so on until all were aligned

Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
I can't do that since I don't have a clear order, I'll have 2 rectangles together, then maybe one, then maybe 3 and so on, it's never something exact Attachment 125757
Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
if there is no pattern to it, there may be no easy way to do it
Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
Is there a better program where I can align them to a specific spacing?
And how can I center the characters in the rectangles faster?
Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
Add a shim to the right of the rightmost character and group it with the character set. Positioning becomes easier.
If you don't wish to group add the shim or leading after the character group. Roughly bring the sets together without any totally overlapping until the rightmost is in it final position. Then select the line and use Object Alignment with Horizontal position set for Distribute equi-spaced.
Basically a form of typesetting.

Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
if the spacing is uniform... but is it, that is the question
plus, I am no expert on what the characters should iook like when positioned centrally on their sqaure, but it seems to me they are displaced both horizontally and vertically, randomly
Re: Adobe Illustrator Aligning
Yes, they are randomly put because the rectangles and the characters were good, but smaller, I made everything bigger and they started to overlap and so on.
