Gradient fill gets worse with each release
The gradient fill in Xara is really choppy and pixelated now ... I had a trial of XX4 Pro to see what it was like ... what's happened to gradient fills ... there's no smoothness at all ... it's a joke if the graphics are getting worse on Xara not better!!!!
What's that all about?!

care to post up an example? :)

Re: Official!! Gradient fill gets worse with each release
I don't see any difference from Corel Xara to Xara Xtreme 4 personally
Re: Official!! Gradient fill gets worse with each release
JA I find your use of the word official rather humourous. Neither you nor I are employees of Xara Ltd so neither of us can make an official announcement about a bug or flaw in Xara software. :D
BTW I agree with Keith, there has been no noticable change in gradient fills from the oldest version I have through version 4.0.1.5601 dated Jul 4 2008.

I zoomed in to 25601% and can't see any pixellation.

BooHoo
Start dealing with the hand you're dealt with.

Indeed..
JA, if you want to open a new thread regarding a function that you believe has become less attractive in newer version, then please do so objectively and with some form of example to show your point.
It's humorous to say the least to read your thread title (which I have edited) and 1st post which comes across as nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction to having played 2 minutes with a new release.
Did you miss the new VHQ (Very High Quality) setting in X4??
Re: Gradient fill gets worse with each release
I'll guarantee the problem lies with the graphics card in Joke Artist's computer. The only time I get any banding in Xara is when I layer multiple gradients with transparency gradients in them, which makes a triple gradient. Anything less than that and it looks smooth as a baby's bum.
Re: Gradient fill gets worse with each release
I have just been doing a project with fills, trans, gradients -some quite difficult. I am just thrilled to be able to do such graphics with limited skills and a great programme X4.
Oh yeah, I have lost count of the upgrades I have had.
