e-Flyer - HTML text and graphics?
e-Flyer - HTML text and graphics
Looking for any tutorials on how to create an e-Flyer using X10.
mailChimp is not on option, just looking on how to design in Xara, and reassemble the text and graphics as an e-mail ad.
The code xara generates, does not hold the WYSIWYG in the email.
What 3rd party programs (besides the listed) can be used to reassemble what is created using Xara?
Xara 10
Photoshop CSx
Flash CSx
FireFox
Re: e-Flyer - HTML text and graphics?
I have used High Impact Email Platinum for a client before. Some assets (graphics, images) were made in XDP.
There are many problems with doing it yourself. For one, you have to allow for people to unsubscribe by the laws in most countries and maintaining that list is onerous. Second, most ISPs have restrictions for bulk email and you will likely get marked as a spammer even if you can get the emails to send.
It is just not a good idea to do it yourself for these and other reasons.

The OP is not a request for legal advice.
Photoshop can export a sliced image and the HTML reassembled in an email (in this example) Mozilla Thunderbird 24.6.0
Xara code as stated by angelize "...html that Xara generates is not suitable for creating e- flyers so you could create the graphics and do your own coding."
I am attempting to use Xara as the main design tool, but still need to reassemble the code in a visual way.
Xara is great WYSIWYG for websites, but why does the generated code not respect the image placement compared to Photoshop?
What 3rd party programs (besides the listed) can be used to reassemble what is created using Xara?
Looking for something comparable to Dreamweaver, spit screen HTML/graphics.
Re: e-Flyer - HTML text and graphics?
If you ask for advice, feel free to disregard legitimate advice you do not feel is pertinent. It wasn't only "legal" advice, it was practical advice.
So go buy a real web development application. Or download and install the now no-longer being developed Expression Web. EW is as fully-featured as DW of a couple versions back. Your images will need to be hosted on your own domain (or elsewhere on the web) for HTML emails to work. No embedding. Or download the trial of the application I mentioned and give it a try. Make the assets in PS and or whatever Xara application you have.
Here's some more advice you will not like: This isn't going to work like you think it is going to in your recipients' email client if you try to embed the images. It isn't straight-forward.
Good luck.
Re: e-Flyer - HTML text and graphics?
Indeed, like mike says, the code exported from Xara isn't suitable for use in emails. You will need to use another program. By all means, use the graphics from Xara for your email campaign but you couldn't produce HTML pages suitable for emails from it. The standards are very different between email and web HTML (email being far more backwards).

so very true. So far Xara + Photoshop has been a good combo, not too much code editing needed to reassemble the images.
Thanks to all, for the advice.
Re: e-Flyer - HTML text and graphics?
Odd that it wouldn't do backward compatible.
I've found when you start doing web design work for clients they are soon looking for Email Marketing pieces of the same quality.
Some use Chimp Mail where you can import HTML, but I can't get Xara to Save As a usable html file.
Sure you can use Photoshop as a Image Map - but that's a work around (not a good one) - not a solution. Plus it really sucks doing a weekly HTML Newsletter every week that way.
Xara is a great program for websites, but it's versatility fall flat when trying to do other HTML Documents used by E mailers and loses a potential large market share.
