Paul asked, in another thread, how the white orb was done?
So, I've put together a tutorial.
There's a zipped pdf attached.
Why not have a go and show us what you would put on the orb?!

Here's mine.
Thank you Rik for taking the time to create this tutorial. There was a lot more work involved then I thought. Great effect!
I like the background that you did on your logo. Is that a bitmap fill? very well done. everything looks great.
Here is what I put together based on your tutorial. I also added some chrome apples based on your other apple wallpaper.
Thank you again for sharing,
Paul
Nice clean water droplet there, Rik :)
Paul: There isn't as much as you think. It's a lot easier to do than to explain in a tutorial.
For example, the highlights at the top of the orb, it's much easier to just clone and then reduce in size and then apply the right amount of feathering. But, that's very difficult to explain in a tutorial.
But, I'm please you had a go and I love the Apple ones. I never even though of turning them the other way round. Brilliant.
As for mine. The background is a bitmap fill. But then I had to clone and apply quite a few Bleach and Brightness transparencies to get the look.
Beret: Thanks for your kind comments, but, where is yours?!
:)
[truncated expletive deleted] ME!!!
There's some good artists on here!
Why not have a go at the little tutorial in Post #1.
I think it should be possible in Photo & Graphic Designer 7.
And the many other tutorials that exist in Xara Xone.
Very cool, Rik. I find white and black are always more difficult to work with.
