How to control object origin when resizing
Is there a way to set the default object origin so that the object does not move when it is resized?
I often use the size and position fields to control sizing and positioning, and often tweak sizing after placing the object. Having the sizing origin in the center of the object means that the object must be re-positioned EACH time the size is changed. There have been times (with other products) where I have used all nine of the fixed origin locations (top left, top right, center, etc.)
Have I missed something, or is there no control for this?

Not sure if that is what you ask for.
When you resize dragging with the mouse the origin always is the opposite corner or edge. Except you hold down the shift key, then it is the center.
If you resize by entering a value to the width or height (or percentage) fields then you can set the origin by (previously) clicking inside of this button:

In the Selector tool, you can also select "Show Rotation Handles' then drag the origin anywhere you want. It can even be outside the shape. But for what you seem to want the 'Set Origin Position' grid icon suggested by siran is probably the best solution.
Re: How to control object origin when resizing
The control that Siran references seems to be what I am looking for but I don't know how to activate it.
I have looked through the various control bars but can't seem to find it.
Can you please direct me to it?
As a note: I am running Web Designer 11 Premium, in case this is a factor.
