Inserting a symbol in a text box?
I'm not quite sure where to post this question. What I would like to know how to do is to insert symbols or "Special characters" (such as letters of the alphabet with attention marks) i.e., as in the ' above the e in the word entrée (copied and pasted this...) is there an easy way to do this in text boxes or should I continue to do it as I'm currently doing - opening a copy of OpenOffice Write or MS Word and selecting the symbol/character I want and copying and pasting it into the text box in Xara. Seems as though we should be able to insert special characters... #-o
Re: Inserting a symbol in a text box?
hold down alt key [left of spacebar not the other one] and type 0233 should give you é - you must use the numpad numbers on the right of the keyboard and numlock must be on
you can google for windows alt codes - I have a list somewhere if i can find it

Hi Coleen,
Also...Go to Start>All programs>Accessories>System Tools>Character maps where you can access and copy each special character; you might start with Help file in that program.

And when the Xara "Paste Special" dialog shows up, likely you'll want to choose "Unformatted Text"...

Re: Inserting a symbol in a text box?
thats maybe because you have a US keyboard/language setting [I presume]
so that's an acute accent sketch - can it be done for grave and all the other french/spanish accents?
