Re: critique/newbie/help :)
Welcome to TalkGraphics Jennifer
I love the drawing and the gesture with the hands. You are off to a great start.
I am not an Illustrator user so I can't give you any tips or links. But check back soon to see if anybody else has any suggestions.
Re: critique/newbie/help :)
Hi Jennifer. As Gary stated really nice start well done. Don't know where you want to go with the drawing? Do you want it to be photo-realistic, tattoo style characture style, portrait, etc.
This one does it from a photo and shows well how to get skins tones: http://blogs.adobe.com/adobeillustra...rator-cs5.html
This one does it from a hand drawn sketch and shows how to do eyes well: http://vectorboom.com/load/character...ator/2-1-0-266
This Tut is good showing transparencies and gradients: http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials...--vector-10949
This one does it totally different using blends and halftones: http://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials...r--vector-9108
This last one I might think you might carry one this way and just use one colour (red) for all of your drawing around the face. Use a lighter shade of red for the line on the outer areas of the face and a very dark shade of red for the hair line. But it is up to you as its your drawing but if you need help were are around to answer questions and help.
Re: critique/newbie/help :)
I don't think it's very polite of you to try and high jack someones topic so you can ask people to help you! May I suggest to you that you take yourself down to your local print shop and ask them to edit your template. I will give you 24 hours to read this message and then I will delete this request of yours from this forum as we are not a jobbing site.
