HI Paul
thanks for the link - Hans [haakoo] posted up about this a couple of weeks or so ago - so far I've only had a quick play with it - it is fun :D
I like that it's unique approach, to be used as a scratch-board type software. (almost like the scribble idea) just messing around and the ability to have anything come from it.
I think this will be a helpful tool to those of us who are hit often by artists' block to come up with fresh ideas.:D
Like the new emoticons... and have to add this one cuz it makes me laugh
al.chemy was news to me, geminiguy, so thanks for the link. Downloaded and "installed"... a moment or two puzzling until I moused around and got the command bar visible (read the manual? sorry, too impatient :D)... and then... Steve J is so right - bl**dy h*ll this is fun! I know I always regard Xara as "fun" in the sense that it's a pleasure to use and the balance of complexity v. ease of use is ideal for me, but alchemy just makes me mess around to see how it'll react. And so far I've only used a laptop trackpad... will be trying out with the full Wacom treatment as soon as I get time, and then - who knows - maybe feeding my guitar or synth output into the app to see what effect that has.
And free too. It's a nice world sometimes, isn't it?
Jon
I downloaded this and when I try to run it, it says "This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.5.0'
Anyone know how to acquire that?
A screen came to download Java, so I did. I still get the same message.
Nancy was the page to Sun Microsystems?
Try this link http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
Yes. I'm redownloading and installing it. I have Java on my computer, so I figured it just wasn't the newest version needed and redownloaded. I did not allow it to install the Microsoft toolbar, though.
I reinstalled it...seems to have done the trick.
