Re: Cannot edit text block
Is it just the right click menu?
Can you select the text box then select the text tool on the toolbar?
Can you double left click the text box?

Hi Chris - Correct, it's on the right click drop down menu.
Yes - I can edit by selecting box, then selecting the text tool on the toolbar, so that works.
I can double click on the text box - but the program acts like its an object. Right click still is "convert to editable shapes"
Today I do notice that the program has given me a an 'exception warning" - then proceeded to crash. I was working with text, and rather hard to duplicate. I've sent crash notices to Xara every time it does.
Select and choose text tool seems to be the workaround. The behavior is rather strange. I'm working with a number of soft groups - no blocks at all - no flex blocks - just really odd.
Probably time to save everything, and start the program again. That usually fixes it for a time. Thanks for the work around.

Re: Cannot edit text block
I don't use Pro+ constantly, but I have noticed that (sometimes) if I right click for the context menu, Xara throws an exception and freezes. Opening Task Manager and killing the CamBridge32 process fixes the freeze without any impact on Xara itself.
Not an answer for you, I'm afraid, but it may make someone go 'Ahhhh, in THAT case....'
Re: Cannot edit text block
Both, I've yet to see an Exception Error in this method of working.
The two things I would try are:
- Run the program as Admin.
- Find CamBridge32.exe in your install folder, right-click and Run as Admin.

Re: Cannot edit text block
I show the file exists but is not running on my system when Pro+ is open. What is CamBridge32? -Dan

Dan, CamBridge32.exe handles the running of 32-bit plug-ins with the 64-bit versions of Xara products so it is still important. In @handrawn's case, it seems to be a bottleneck, blocker, or crasher of his application for this particular set of brushes. you are tempting me to have a further play and I really do not have the time ;)

Re: Cannot edit text block
I've definitely narrowed this down to editing text within a soft group - control click on the text block within the soft group produces and exception, crash etc. A restart brings all functions back. Rather tough when soft groups are used constantly.
Thanks all for the suggestions.

This one is driving me crazy now. It’s happening on all my files, and a lot. Again, editing text in a soft group. I constantly am sending the issue to Xara. @acorn will running the Cambridge32.exe completely solve this problem?
