Animation > Reveal Types in WD365
Just my opinion but the animation > reveal types offered in WD 365 need to be simplified. They try to be too tricky and end up looking gimmicky. A good animation type should not draw attention to itself. It needs to present the material or object or photo and do so effectively and quietly. Too many of these options IMHO are way over the top.
I appreciate the time it takes to develop these reveals, but do they add to the site or do they detract and draw the visitor's attention away from the content?
Re: Animation > Reveal Types in WD365
To me Gary, the job of a designer is to simplify information for the viewer and present it in a clean and precise manner. A lot of these effects including parallax scrolling are trends that would be out of style very soon.

Like Flash? ;))
I agree for the most part.
What works for me with a scrolling page is content is provided in a linear manner with opportunities to branch off from the main stream.
And there are good and bad examples of this.
OTOH having some interaction in a site, e.g. a panel that reveals or slides in, or a button that provides feedback when you mouse over, involves the visitor and engages the visitor in the process.
So my basic rule of design is, there are no rules.
Don't be different to be good. Be good and you will be different.

It's all good Gary, it's all good ;)
