Re: Gill Sans - Eric Gill
I think most of the comments you received on TypeDrawers when you posted this same thing on 2 February apply here.

Good luck.

A short questionnaire regarding being human.
Do you understand courtesy?
Oh sorry, perhaps I should have introduced myself first?

Agree with Acorn and others. Just pop in and post. Don't introduce yourself. (Not a good start in any forum!)
That said, in my career as a designer and advertising art director I used Gill Sans on many occasions. I have always liked the unique character of the family. I do not think it competes with Futura. The only similarity is they are both sans serif fonts.
If you are going to be PC and not use Gill because of who he was as a human being is up to you. If you follow this track then you have to remove Picasso from all the museums in the world because he was a major abuser. And I suspect if you start looking under rocks, you are going to turn up a world of abusers. I do not admire men who do this.

Somebody's homework/essay?

Does anyone remember that GillSans was substituted for Helvetica in Aldus PageMaker 3? Man, that messed with my head. identifying typefaces in years to come.
