newbie on board needing suggestions
Hi everyone.
Im new to your boards. I have been working with alot on graphics lately and I use PI for all my work. I am not as good as most of you.. Your all well talented!
I am a beginner at painting so bare that in mind. :p I also am still learning shadows and creases.
I have a couple pictures I'd love to show you all.. I need some advice as well for my dinosaur's background.. If this drawing was yours what could you see in the background? I thought about mountaintops maybe with snow caps.. but it just aint clicking there.. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

Re: newbie on board needing suggestions
I would paint him sitting in a chair, waiting for a regular oral hygiene routine from his dentist to preventing toothaches.
Unfortunately I haven't found a picture of a waiting room, so I would say it's better to choose another background for your nice dino. :)
btw: Welcome to talkgraphics!

I like the second pic. It has a strange charm.
Dino pics goes well with a rock textured background. Or try to find some reference to prehistoric scenes. You know, funky plants and volcanoes...
Or running wild in the city...
But those are standard stuff. Maybe you could stretch our imagination some more?
Very nice drawings. Do hope you post some more.
Welcome to TG. :)

Welcome to TalkGraphics Jewelz:)
Your drawings are great!
Backgrounds require imagination (thats me out lol)
Looking at your dino, I felt "What a great picture" So why not make the original the focal point?
Re: newbie on board needing suggestions
yes, great job and welcome to talkgraphics! i like the hair on the girl - excellent job!!!
Re: newbie on board needing suggestions
First off.. Thanks for warm welcoming to your board and the compliments! I am thrilled to be here ;)
Great sense of humor (Remi)! lol I was going to go with the lunch look, but as I got to painting I was more focused on the texture of his skin.. I should go back and either change color or shade some in.. I definately dont want his choppers a focal point :)
However, I think I might go with the volcano (great idea, grafixman!).. Id love to try to paint a prehistoric bird in the background maybe on a rock. After reading and thinking I think I have a visual picture :) I do want to keep the dino close up as is. Ill try out a combo of all the suggestions. See how it turns out. I was really stuck on it. And yes (Kiwi) background do require lots of thinking and creativity .. I have other paintings I did that I had no problem with backgrounds.. It just clicked. Now Im trying to explore larger areas (stuff I know I can't draw! lol)
(Drifter) The girl's hair took me forever! lol Layers are very hard to do (imo).
Re: newbie on board needing suggestions

well, here's one more point of view, without the dripping blood...
Re: newbie on board needing suggestions
well that would work.. I would have to rearrange the girls facial expressions..Which wouldnt be that hard to do.
I love how you did the jaw! Good transformation :)
