I tried Derek's technique of photographing an object, a rose in this case, with a black card behind the sun-lit flower. But instead of processing my iPhone photo in Xara, I used the Prisma app's Hunter filter. Similar effect.

Sure. Here's the original. I held the card with one hand and my iPhone with the other. It was a sunny morning and the rose was backlit.

Nah. The iPhone is very fast. You can take photos from a car going 70mph and the photos are sharp.
