For those of you fortunate enough to own the world's two best graphic arts packages (XaraX and Corel Painter)there are literally zillions of cool ways to make them work together.
Below is one example and I'll submit others in discrete bites to show some of the neat things you can do relatively easily with these two programs.
The example shown here uses just one of the Papers that comes with Painter 6.1 (and earlier versions) to create a seamless bitmap fill for use in Xara. There are lots of Paper types available for Painter and they can be enhanced in a variety of ways to create wonderful fills for XaraX.
The key to creating these seamless tiles is to note the size of the Paper in Painter, they are not all the same size. The required number of rows and columns is noted next to the sample image of the selected paper. If a file is created at that size and the paper is then used for various effects, then a seamless file can be generated, copied and pasted into XaraX and used as a bitmap fill.

Here are some seamless tiles created with Painter that can be pasted into XaraX to create a nearly infinite variety of additional bitmap fills.

Why not show us some work created in X with these textures instead of just the basic tiles?

Peter,
Good idea.
Here are few samples utilizing the above fills.
In the case of the hut I created a shape, filled it with one of the painter generated fills, created a brush from this object and then used the new brush for the roof and ground cover.
