@Barbara, as a newly minted Member, I am finding the 15-second pause between search very frustrating.
Could this constraint be removed for those who have signed in but retained for this who are only Guesting?
It might improve participation.

Yup. 20 seconds is the default.

I'll look into it.
The 20-sec delay is to prevent DDOS style attacks on the server - searching is resource intensive.
I can't set different delays based on guest vs member status only allow or disallow search, and search is important for us to provide to both guests and members.
I have reduced the delay period and resulting annoyance some, but probably not enough to eliminate annoyance completely.
The upside to this is it gives us all a chance to practice the virtue of patience :):banghead:
How about adding a CAPTCHA to the search form that the user must complete before performing the search? Or if CAPTCHA is not received well (I know the Google reCAPTCHA has been overly stringent lately), maybe try other security questions like asking "What is 2 + 2?", "Type in the second/third/fourth word in the following sentence" etc.
I use Google to search TG, so either way it's no huge deal for me ;))
please no captcha that would waste more time than waiting ;)
it's just the forum post searches that are the real issue - specific searches can be gpogled like you say...
@Barbara
thanks for the reduction
@Barbara, the 10-second delay is manageable and thank you for your explanation.
