I was hanging around the computer so why not upload it.
Well I didn't change the name or anything. So it doesn't seem to have to do with the file extension.
Thelonious - as soon as you save the image locally I think it adds the file extension.

PS - Great flowers Inkings!
ink'
what application are you using to optimize your painter images? in other words what are you using to convert them to jpegs?
you may want to try different apps for jpeg formatting and see what happens in the upload.

I just make jpegs in Painter.
Inkings,
What beautiful colors!
I'm going to try uploading an image (don't let it frighten you) and write down how I did it, step by step.
1. Saved it as a JPG in Painter 5 **with no spaces** and I retyped the "JPG" to "jpg".
2. Uploaded to my PixelAlley server and checked to see that the file name still had "jpg" not "JPG" as the extension.
3. Figured out what the URL would be.
4. Went into that tiny little box where we type our messages.. yikes! I'm claustrophobic!
5. Typed the first part of this message up to ....
HERE....
6. Opened another browser window to double check the URL (typed it in and hit the Enter key to see that it loaded in my browser).. Yup, it did.
7. Highlighted the URL on the page where my image displayed in my browser and used Ctrl+C to copy it.
8. Back in the little claustrophobia making typing box, I clicked the bottom right button named IMAGE below Instant UBB Code, then while the default "http://" was highlighted, used Ctrl+V to paste my URL over it (replace it). After checking the URL to see that everything was there and nothing more was there, I clicked the OK button.
Here's what happened:
http://www.pixelalley.com/painterfor...s/Jin-1989.jpg
P.S. It didn't work the first time because while I was testing to make sure I wrote the instructions right, I clicked the IMAGE button one more time. That inserted an extra set of [image] [/image] tags and that broke the link. (the real tags use IMG and /IMG inside the brackets instead of image and /image. I typed them using the whole word so it wouldn't be seen as UBB code. In other words, so humans could read them.)

When I sent Diamond in Blue I just put '.jpeg' after the title and it worked. Thanks for all the help. Paul
I still can't afford a web site.
