Re: Scrolling text - still
David, tks for the files but what you have supplied is the same problems I have had trying to do scrolling text - the text is very jerky and goes all the way across the screen.
I want to put it in a rectangle and smooth it out. Also, I didn't see a way using animation to change color, fonts, etc. but will take a look again tomorrow.
Again, tks for the help - jb

Re: Scrolling text - still
@doniggy: these are all flash animations, but if you want to use MARQUEE, I did a tutorial on how to do that here:
http://xaradesigner.co.uk/marquee/
@jeb: the jerkiness of the flash file is dependent on the speed of the animation (the frame rate) and, to a certain extent, the power of your monitor/graphics card. The animations I just did are a fixed width (as with the MARQUEE tutorial), they do not go the whole width, they go the exact width that I designed them at, which was 752 pixels. Here I've put it on a background to demonstrate that:
Here is the XAR file: Attachment 86728
@everybody: my name is not David Hockney, it's Frank
Re: Scrolling text - still
Sorry about that. Frank. :) And tks for the help but I have over 30 names I wanted to scroll so it was going to take many, many frames to make it work so I went with having them pop up instead still using the animation.
But for some reason, when I made the placeholder it caused my text to shift on the page slightly when previewed. It looks fine on the working page but to get the right edge of the text back where it was I have to re-size it to make it overlay the photos I have down the right side of the page. This is only on the page with the new placeholder. Have not uploaded the site yet so will wait and see if it shows up in realtime. - jb
