Nag Screens
Recently, I've started seeing notification that my update service has expired ... Nothing new in that right!
However in closing the program, everything goes back to a blank desktop screen with a UAC notice that asks "Do I want to allow UPDATE SERVICE to make changes to my computer?"
Is this normal now? Is anyone else seeing it?

Re: Nag Screens
I'm up to date with the updates and subscriptions, but yesterday I was greeted with the Update Your Update Service. Doesn't matter whether you tell it to go ahead or not, it's back every time Xara is started.

Re: Nag Screens
That message looks like a software update alert, rather than a service update alert.

Re: Nag Screens
Not getting this on any of my products so I suspect a MS Windows change has sparked it off.

Re: Nag Screens
Just ran it as admin again, same message. Restarted computer, same message.
The com I have Xara installed on isn't on the MS Insider Ring, but does snaffle the latest public updates via the home network.

Re: Nag Screens
Chris,
That is a Magix update to its update notifier to improve nagging. I got it with Video Pro X yesterday, did the update, and since then, the link with the in-program Store and purchased items (in VPX) has almost been fixed. I don't know if or how it would affect notifications for Xara.

Re: Nag Screens
That's what I thought, a software update.

Re: Nag Screens
When I click 'Start Installation' I get the Windows UAC prompt, which I accept, then nothing. It's as if I hit the cancel button.
Next time I start XWDP, it's back again. Cancel, accept, same result. It takes around 30 seconds for it to appear.
If I'm the only one to experience this it's obviously something on my machine and I'll have a serious look when it begins to annoy me.

Re: Nag Screens
No, I'm getting exactly the same here.
My subscription isn't due, but I cannot get rid of that pop up.

Re: Nag Screens
I must confess, other than trying to install WDP on top of itself (it failed as it said there was a newer, or same, version already installed and refused to continue) I haven't bothered to look into it.
