February 15 - NEW Xara Xone Workbook 67 - FREE!
The February 15 Xara Xone
All this and a look at exporting graphics for the web, what file types can be used, and which file type works best with different kinds of images.
The ZIP file got a little big, over 2MB but there are six pages this month and two mini-tutorials.
Your comments, questions, and suggestions are always appreciated.

an excellent set of tutorials Gary - the exporting for web and dropping out white background are very welcome
is it not true that in xtreme pro sometimes you get a warning message about non standard bitmaps when you bitmap copy a stained glass [or other non mix] transparency type ?
Re: February 15 - NEW Xara Xone Workbook 67 - FREE!
There is a warning in most recent versions of Xtreme about transparency may not work as expected or some such message. This applies more to exporting images with transparency such as a True Color + Alpha PNG file.
I have found that if you select all the objects when you export this kind of file then everything exports very well.
Was that your question?

Re: February 15 - NEW Xara Xone Workbook 67 - FREE!
the message appears for me as soon as I try to make a bitmap copy - before I have access to the create copy dialog box - so I wondered if it should be mentioned in the workbook
I followed you tutorial through and got this, sorry if not clear before - thought it might just be way mine is set up:
Re: February 15 - NEW Xara Xone Workbook 67 - FREE!
Yeah that's the warning dialog.
You kind of have to take it on a dog by dog basis. Some effects may not look exactly as you want but all in all I have not had any serious problems.
If you create a bitmap copy or if you export True Color (not + Alpha) the image will be almost bang on. That's been my experience.

ok Gary - I guess most users put it into quiet mode so it doesn't pop up every time - just thought it might confuse a new user
thanks again

As always, great job, Gary.
One nit: your graphic above has "workbook" misspelled as "wrokbook." Is this your way of making an argument for spell checking within Xara?

Great workbook again, thanks Gary :)
You asked which way round for Yin-Yang:
Always just two colours, Yin is the darker, usualy black, standing for feminine, darkness, negative, etc and Yang is the lighter colour, usualy white nowadays, denoting light, masculine, positive etc. though Yang should be red, for life - red and black also being the colours of the interweaving "Seal of Solomon" (NB not the Star of David), both symbols representing the dynamic between good and evil, postive and negative, etc that keeps the universe from imploding/exploding.
However, the fact that the feminine is the negative aspect suggests this was formulated after the switch from matriarchal to patriarchal religious systems about 1500BC. The Yin-Yang concept did exist before this though and was probably the other way round with the feminine being the positive aspect.
