Word must've gotten around you like to pull the wings off of dragons...
Nice shot there Rich.
John,
The image prior to focal enhancement.

That's a fantastic shot, Rich! Yes, sharpening it up a bit adds a lot to the silhoutte effect and the image overall.
Is that an uncropped image? If you were able shoot and compose the photograph just like that - I'm even more impressed!
Amazing.
Risto
Thanks Risto,
Lucky shot I guess. This was the 100 mm lens set at center point auto focus. I do that to prevent the camera from selecting an area other than the subject when shooting in folage. I cannot hold a camera steady, and with it being so dark, there was a little movement. This happened to be a full frame view. The lens is somewhat limited shooting large areas, and I need to increase the distance for scenery. I usually use the 17-85 mm lens for scenery.
I don't know if the effect is sharpening as sharpening goes. This is a localized effect with a preview. Nice to control the amount of change. I did a global change, but got too many artificats. So, this was just the dragonfly itself.
Rich
Rich,
What did you use to sharpen this shot? The original looks good, but I have to admit the sharpened version is more appealing.
Sorry... No... That was my reply to...
"The only one I have seen land in several months."
This was my response to the original shot...
"Nice shot there Rich."

This was Enhancer in focus mode. You can see the adjustment effects in the preview window before completing the effect. The blue marks the change area, and the red the non change area. You can mark however you want.

Looks like some cool software. I will have to check that out. Thanks:)
