Producing a glow effect around text
Good morning,
I don't use Web Designer or Graphic Designer often enough to remember this--I need to produce a 'glow' effect around text on a button similar to the bottom button on the attached .web file. Have tried several things and come up short.
Can someone refresh my memory?
Thanks!

Ben, another approach might just be to add a Line width to thicken the glyphs. You have a little extra control with the line's Join type; a bevelled Joins rounds the corners a little.
In this case, it just looks like you make the font Bold.

Oh. I hadn't even thought of either of those two options. I like them both better than the original. I'll make examples of each and run them by the site owner.
Thanks much!

Re: Producing a glow effect around text
If I did it I would prob use the shadow tool that is unless I wanted the glow to remain vector which all I tried seems to be a bitmap effect anyway therefore the shadow tool seems easiest at least as far as I can tell. Maybe GP or someone else here knows.

Re: Producing a glow effect around text
Yes Larry, the Shadow tool creates a bitmap, as does Bevels & Feathering when used for web or in a pdf. One further thing to bear in mind if using the Shadow tool is that the area that the Shadow bitmap takes is often larger than the buttons rectanglular dimensions which can have the undesired effect of enlarging your button size. This can be overcome by just selecting the button rectangle & create a full colour bitmap.
Re: Producing a glow effect around text
My actual weapon of choice is CSS text-shadow: https://www.w3schools.com/csS/tryit....3_text-shadow3.
For a completely vector solution, you could clone multiple text lines and dither their positions.
If you then Soft-group, you can edit one copy and the others change as well.
