embedding google widgets ?
Embedding google widgets (google calender, google maps) fails repeatedly, either google refuses to insert the code or there is a warning from xara.
I followed the steps indicated in the message: insert google maps widget, search address, share, inserrt or I go to google maps, search address and copy the URL (http) in xara create new widget.
Thanks for the help.

Re: embedding google widgets ?
Hi Joicol, the problem with widgets is they work when released. However if Google alters their code I find the widgets often fail.
Far better off using Google's own embed code.
Here's an example:
I searched Google Maps for a map of the rough location you're using.
Clicked the Share Icon,
Choose Embed
Copied the code.
Pasted it into a place holder.
See attached .xar file.

What do you mean with a placeholder ?
Re: embedding google widgets ?
Just to get you started, read the chapter "Placeholder Tab" in the Help file.

Also... what Boy said...
Re: embedding google widgets ?
ok, it's clear now. I found that simply dragging and dropping the html code on a page works best; when I use a rectangle first as placeholder, it also works, but inside the xara tool the rectangle is displayed in black.
Interesting examples. How do you make the text dissapear underneath the headers and the navbar like for this site ?

Re: embedding google widgets ?
Right Click on your Header and select Sticky. Same for the navbar.

You can give your placeholder any color by selecting it and clicking any color on the color bar at the bottom.
Re: embedding google widgets ?
Please import the camping3 template (business-outdoor); the blue part at the top can not be selected; it's the template design itself;
Re: embedding google widgets ?
Open the Page & Layer Gallery. Unlock the Page Background layer. You can now select the page header. Make it sticky. Now Select the navbar on the MouseOff layer, make it sticky. ;)
