Is it possible to publish website files from Pro+ Cloud in the same way as Pro+ desktop?
Dan
Dan, Xara Cloud+ has no FTP component to allow you to do this.
You can open any XAR file in Xara Cloud+ and you can Share to Web. This is only to Xara's servers.
I have found that there is no real way to include external assets. Xara probably doesn't want you to run unsolicited code through its servers either.
You only have access to a visible layer. For example, you cannot edit anything on the MouseOver layer unless your XAR upload had that open. Equally, there is no functionality to edit a Xara NavBar.
Xara Cloud+ is no currently capable of handling web documents to any useful degree.
What you need to do is publish the XAR from your associated Plus XDA.

Hi Dan,
Yes you can make simple website edits like text changes, image replacements, etc and publish them live using Xara Cloud.
First - make sure your files are accessible between both products by using cloud storage like Dropbox to provide the 'sync' between devices. See this article.
Second - ensure that you have saved your FTP publishing setting in your project file via Pro+ desktop. Xara Cloud will use these settings for publishing. You can not add/edit FTP settings in Xara Cloud. Here is an article.
This is one, if not, the most popular use case for the Cloud Pro+ bundle we hear from customers.
Xara Cloud is not a website builder. Website designing, rich editing, and administrating complex sites should still be done on Pro+ desktop. But we've found Xara Cloud does a great job for many websites and we keep improving it as more customers adopt it.
Best,
Matt
~Matt, my previous Post seems to stand. There is no FTP setting in Xara Cloud.
It would appear rather niche to have to Publish from a Plus XDA first before you have very limited editing capable with Xara Cloud before you can trigger a Republish.
Your article is flagged as 'Updated today':
This does not make much sense as to what 'these two' is referring to.Quote:
You can only save the publish details in a Xara Desktop product. So looking at the publish settings as they appear in either of these two - check the Web Properties Dialog publish details.
The example and words around all this still refer to 'Xara hosting'; it is not clear that you handle other Web hosts in the same manner.
Ifis totally incorrect.Quote:
Please contact our resell partner Magix (who managed domains and hosting) and they should be able to fix this for you.
The article fails to describe the large number of things you cannot edit in Xara Cloud and the damage you will encounter if you try with some.
Is TG that niche that the customers you hear from never engage through TG?

Thanks for clarification. My hope was that Pro+ Cloud would have some CMS capability to publish to non-Magix/Xara servers. Thanks for the help.
Dan, XPro+ isn't a CMS anyhow. The only thing XC+ handles for something like this is MLS data for US realtors. If you have XT-CMS then that's as close as it gets. I'm sure @xtom could advise that XC+ would work as you are using a PHP interface for the data and XC+ for the pretty face.
@MB365 has not actually yet affirmed that XC+ will republish to non-Magix/Xara servers; I am sure it will.

Hi Dan,
You can publish your website to non-Magix/Xara Hosting. This has been the true for years. Xara Cloud will do the same.

And again, once your FTP credentials are saved in your project file, then you can publish edits through Xara Cloud as I previously mentioned.
We are happy to help you through this. Just reach out on https://www.xara.com/contact-us/
Dam, Matt described it in Post#3 with this link: https://docs.xara.com/en/articles/17...ith-xara-cloud.

My error. Thanks for the correction. Cloud now meets all my needs for small, offsite, website changes and publication. Thanks again, to all.
