ok, here is my effort
i admit i went over the top
the photostrator project tutorial talks about a t-shirt design
ive sort of turned it into a poster
and i didn't like his camera so did my own (and killed the authentic 50s look in the process, i know)
but what the heck

see what you can do!
its a great study in haltones
you are NOT expected to do a camera like mine
that was just me going off on a tangent
here is a xar file with a bunch of halftone patterns you can use if you like

I like the looks of your camera much better then the retro one. In fact the entire poster you did is great. =D>=D>
EDIT: Thanks for the halftone screens, I have looked for something like that for a long time.
Hi Frank, could you please advise that at the hand creation, how you did that curve? I drew a circle with that arc, broke the points, but how to put to the hand and remove that rectangle corner

I know that eventually could put control points to the one shape hand and do the arc in Shape Tool, but would like to know the "official" way, or rather the geometrically perfect way or how to say.

ive no idea if this constitutes the "correct" way
i know there must be other ways to do this
but this is how i did it for this drawing
:thx
I use the Shape Tool a lot.
But, when it comes to stuff like the palm of the hand in this thread, I also use circles and simply add the shapes together.
That's about the only way I know to get a perfect semi-circle part.
So, what Frank has demonstrated is what I tend to do.
Thanks the answers, finally I also went through it with the Shape tool, this is my result

Maybe another question, what is the Xara way to add noise, irregular points to the surface? I mean except the Live effect, there I know there is add noise but do not like too much. Actually I did so with the Shape tool clicking small irregular forms, grouped it and mirrored and turned in different directions
+1 - I would love a solution. I coped out and just added noisy circles...
