Web Designer10 Memory Issues
Hi everyone
Was wondering if anyone else has memory issues when using Web Designer 10 Premium?
Trying to update my site with WD10 but after a few times I can't preview my 6 page website anymore.
Keeps telling me I am running low on memory.
This is after rebooting and having between 5-6GB available when starting the program... with a total of 8GB memory overall.
The only other program running is the Firefox browser.
And Yes I am running the 64bit version of WD10. Never had any issues with Designer Pro X9.
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
Have you optimized your photos?
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
I did.
It seems to happen when I preview my site in the browser.
When I change the width of the browser window to see the variants in action the memory usage goes up rapidly.
Even made the screen turn black a few times!
I am using supersite with page transitions and scale to fit the screen.
So I guess this could be a browser issue and not necessarily Web Designer's fault?
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
Also happens when using the Web Designer Preview Window and resizing.
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
I suggest filing a ticket with Xara. This is the link for US customers http://www.xara.com/us/servicecenter/
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
Will do... Was just wondering if it was just my computer this is happening to.
Thanks!
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
No I've been using 10 premium for only a few days and have seen it once. System had 8gb of memory free at the time. It must be a memory leak, ie.. some buffer is not giving its memory back. Gary is correct, open a ticket with XARA.
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
Just send them a ticket.
Happens every time I resize the window.
Will post when I hear from them.
Re: Web Designer10 Memory Issues
No solution yet from support.
But after experimenting some more I realize it only happens with the preview window and Internet Explorer.
Unfortunately the preview window is based on Internet Explorer.
Hell even when I resize the IE window without WD running it crashes!
Tried to update IE but did not fix the problem.
So my next question is... is there perhaps a way to have the preview window be based on my default browser?
Or do I have to click one extra button every time I want to test it? O... the horror! :-O
