Hi,
I have the book, but it's illegal to give the password to you just like it's illegal give out serial numbers for software.
There is no password on the first line of Page 93 of The Painter 5 WOW! Book. There's no reference to password protected tutorials on that page either. I don't see a password anywhere on the outside or inside covers.
Even if it is there somewhere and I just can't see it, you'll need to write to the publisher of The Painter 5 WOW! Book to get the correct password.
You'll also probably have to prove that you own the book with a receipt or in some other way.
The Peachpit Press website address is on the front cover of The Painter 5 WOW! Book and since you have the book, that should be easy to find.
If you need tutorials, there are lots of them available on the web. Even some written by Cher Threinen-Pendarvis can be found on the following page (find her name link in the list on the right side of the page):
http://home.earthlink.net/~athene/painter/index.html
We need to respect copyrights and the work of other artists and writers by not giving out passwords and serial numbers. If we don't stick together about this, our own work is so much more in danger of being taken without payment or credit.

Hi Jinny,
Well said.
"We need to respect copyrights and the work of other artists and writers by not giving out passwords and serial numbers. If we don't stick together about this, our own work is so much more in danger of being taken without payment or credit".

What Hong is referring to is the additional content Peachpit posted at their website. It's password-accessed. Presumably, when you access the website it asks you a different question (page x, word y) each time. It's the Peachpit people who should resolve this problem since he paid for the book.

My friends, you are being quite impolite. As Hong states that he has bought the book, be it new or second-hand, but the Korean version, I do not see why that should not be true, and it is most certainly not democratic to condemn someone without proof of guilt.
All he asked for was a word from the book, not a code to crack a programme.
And remember the story of "let him who is without sin..."
So if he visits tell@peachpit.com (I looked it up for him and wrote him a mail) he will find the help he needs.
I hope he won't stay away. Eastern people often have a far more refined character and culture than we, western berserkers, who can only think in terms of total destruction if something doesn't fit our personal obsessions. Shame!

Greg,
Thanks for the support on this issue. I appreciate it very much.
Doug,
Right. It's Peachpit that needs to solve it. That's why I suggested going to the publisher for an answer.
Hong,
Your question was not illegal and you have not done anything illegal or wrong by asking us.
It would be illegal for us to give you a password, though. Then we would be making the mistake, not you.
The publisher, Peachpit Press should be able to help you.
Good luck.
Erik,
No one has condemned anyone. Relax.
Read my message again and you'll see that I said **we** can't give a password because that would be illegal. I explained why and offered the same solution that you and Doug offered. That is, to contact the publisher. Not only that, I offered another source for Cher's tutorials that Hong can get to in the meantime.
I think that Hong will understand now that it was not wrong or illegal to ask the question. I hope that you understand my response was to explain and offer a solution. Not to condemn anyone.
Peace, everyone...
