Bitmap, Solid Fill (Pantone) and Transparent Background
I want to bring a bitmap into CorelDraw. I need the background to be transparent and the image area to be filled with a Pantone (PMS) color. I would also like the bitmap to "overprint" (not knock-out) the image, graphic or object underneath when printing color separation films.
In Illustrator, I can import a transparent, gray scale PNG. Then simply fill it with a "solid" or Pantone color. I then just change the properties so that it overprints.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike...which version of CD are you using?
Re: Bitmap, Solid Fill (Pantone) and Transparent Background
CorelDraw X6... I haven't gotten an answer yet from ANY forum or CorelDraw FB page. This is very easy in Xara, Illustrator, and Freehand (not that anyone uses it anymore).

Easy peasey.
Select your image, it doesn't need to be a grayscale image, from the bitmap menu, select the Mode sub menu, then Duotone. Make sure that on the dialog box that pops up the drop down is set to monotone, choose your Pantone color, adjust the curve if desired or needed, and click the OK button.
