3 layer gallery questions

1. when you click an item in the page & layer table,
it snaps you to the item in the workspace
how can you do this in reverse?
ie click on the item and have it auto find in the page & layer table
(it only highlights if it is the current view)

2. why are many of my text areas SHAPES - vs TEXT areas?
shapes from text tables maybe?

does it matter ??

3. found a top image layer
on both pages (only have 2 pages)
I have a black stripe on top for my logo
that makes sense? but did I make it somehow?
(trying to remember so I can make better site next time
(hmmm tried to upload the image but working?)\


and I have some text and photos that I think would be better in the mouseoff layer
but it does work ok - should I leave things alone (as they are working)

1. In the Page & Layer gallery, in Layer view, you use the Locate button.
2. At some point, you pressed some button sequence and converted the text.
On my set-up it would be Text Area > Ctrl+J > Shape, or Text Area > Ctrl+ 1 > Group-Group-Shape.
There is no recovery from this once you have closed or saved the design.
Yes, it matters a lot, screen-reader users will find an image with no Alt text so it would be totally useless to them.
Images are no scalable and are wasteful of the viewer's bandwidth.
3. You probably did. A Layer has a pecking order so anything in a "top layer" will not be oscured by a lower layer like MouseOver.
There are exceptions, mainly in the use of Sticking.
Layers can be useful in the design to stop things becoming too cluttered on the MouseOff layer.
I would leave as is but try to be consistent across pages and designs.

1. I did try the locate button before - but seems as I did not use it correctly
needs to be the NEXT click - now works : THANKS

just did some more playing = looks like locate is a toggle = hard to see that on my system
4k OLED .... or maybe my 71 year old eyes :-O

2. - I can play and just remake the sections as text

TD, Locate is a button - on or off.
Xara's UI is too nuanced for most.
