TalkGraphics Christmas Challenge 2008
Attachment 54135
Hello and welcome to our next community challenge.
The holiday season starts and Christmas is coming soon. It was an eventful year, no question. But there is still a problem. An unanswered question. And it's one of the most fundamental question of the mankind:
"How do sharks like to celebrate Christmas?"
Just to be clear: We are talking about the fishs and that is what makes it so difficult to find answers - nobody has ever spent Christmas with them.
This is only a small list of the unanswered questions:
- Do they know it's Christmas time?
- Do they swim home for Christmas?
- Do they dream of a white Christmas?
- Or do they prefer to discuss the newest scientific facts in Aquaculture, instead of celebrating Christmas?
As you can see, we really need your help with this. You're the only one who is able to find the right answers.
So, your task is, to show us what you know about this difficult topic.
As usual, this is more a "social" challenge for showing your design ideas, not a real commercial contest. So, you'll find no prizes or something like that, but a lot of fun.
Challenge rules:
- The goal of the challenge is, to create a image which shows, how Sharks really like to celebrate Christmas.
- You can use any Graphics program you like for this challenge
- Only one image per member is allowed. Therefore submit only your best result.
- It's not necessary, but you can use the attached file as a starting point, in order to make your life easier.
- Please post your results as PNG, GIF or JPG files - regardless which Graphics program you use.
- The copyright of each image remains with you. It depends also on yourself, if you publish the sourcefile (for example a .XAR file) or not.
- The challenge ends on December, 24th. 2008.
So, show us your creativity and post your results here.
You have nothing to loose, only to win

Re: TalkGraphics Christmas Challenge 2008
OK I'll *bite* ;)
Do they know it's Christmas time?
Yes they have terrific memories where easy food is concerned.
Australian beaches fill with young children and surfers over Christmas making it much easier for Sharks to grab a Christmas feed.
Do they swim home for Christmas?
Yes the popular Australian beaches are their real homes, many sharks were born there during the Christmas feasting.
Do they dream of a white Christmas?
Yes they do. Many swimmers and surfers at Christmas are members of the Caucasoid race which taste good owing to their high fat and sugar content diets, therefore these thoughts flood their minds while they rest.
Or do they prefer to discuss the newest scientific facts in Aquaculture, instead of celebrating Christmas?
Not really, Sharks are not farmed and know nothing about captivity.
:D
Here's my image created in Xara Xtreme 4 as vectors (the two background sharks were blurred slightly first which turns them into bitmaps) then I made use of Virtual Painter 5 to give it the pastel colour look.
Also shown is the line view (wirefirame).
