If you mean one of those cool icons that you see on the tabs at the top of the screen:
Create a square image. With it selected, click the yellow Names tag icon, and name it favion. Press Add.
Publish your site and Designer will do the rest.
favicon...
No, not on the tabs. I am looking to create several icons for use in my office that will go on the desktop, sending the user to a website. I will need them for use in both WinXP and Win7. I have one of the icons already, but needed to use the GIMP to convert it to an .ico file.
Can that be done in XDP7?
There is a utility called IcoFX http://icofx.ro/ that can do this. Xara cannot. I used to use IcoFX to create favicons. It is a really good program and easy to use.
If the question is about creating a desktop icon, then you need to create an image (256x256px).
Save your drawing in most any format you want (as long as the icon editor supports it) and then you need to use an icon editor programme like IcoFX.
Now, IcoFX used to be free (and my installed version certainly was free), but now it costs about $59.
You may be able to find other free icon editors.
Thanks, to all of you. I can use the GIMP if Xara cannot do it, it works perfectly fine for that function. I was just trying to keep it all in one application.
I have used IconDeveloper for this (only $20). Draw the icon in Xara, export to PNG, import into IconDeveloper to create icon set.
