1971 Gibson Les Paul Standard 58 These are super rare, supposedly left over “holy grail” bodies. These are very cool Les Pauls. It’s really a Standard 54. It was mis-named by Gibson as a Standard 58. This guitar is as collectable as it gets for the first reissue Les Paul. The specs: ▪ 1971 Gibson Les Paul Standard 58 Goldtop ▪ First reissue of the 54 Goldtops ▪ 100% original ▪ Embossed plastic pickup covers (only in ’71 & ’72) ▪ Nice greening in arm rest area ▪ Aluminum compensated stop tailpiece included ▪ No broken solder joints ▪ Original case in very good condition ▪ Single coil pickups in this guitar SCREAM Only 25 of these were made in ’71; only 1150 combined for ’71 and ’72. The only slight issue is that someone put different tuning pegs on the headstock, no additional holes drilled, just shadows of bigger washers. Original tuners put back on.
