I've been working on an X-Wing fighter to complement the TIE fighter I did earlier. This image took a lot more manipulation than anything I've done before, to get the various parts into the right positions, and basically would have been impossible without the Swing animation.

I still have not craked the paradigm of how you build those things!

OMG! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/eek.gif Mike you always astound me with your latest work http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Ernesto, Mike surprises everyone with his abilities. Must have something to do with being from Scotland. I've heard the best engineers are always from Scotland.

Ernesto, Bill,
Thanks! I forgot the X-Wing needs an R2 astromech droid, so I had to order one up.

Changed some of the textures to 4 x oversize, and shrunk to fit, and got much better paint job. I still need to do something with the top of the rear block, it is a bit bland.

Glad you liked it, though.

Based on the complexity of the X-Wing, I am guessing that a mini-tutorial would be a major under-taking. I would imagine that Mike would need to completely recreate the X-Wing in order to write a mini-tutorial, which I would assume would be very time consuming and not very "mini".

Sometimes it is just OK to just enjoy the master's work and not attempt to become the master.

Mike, thanks for sharing your great works.
