Info Compass Stereogram - Evolution

Here's the evolution of my latest stereogram image, a compass.

1. The depth image and repeating wallpaper panel. I may replace this pattern with a nautical chart pattern. The lighter values come forward with black going all the way to the back.

2. A line drawing which will be used for a Mapped Texture Stereogram.

3. The hidden image stereogram.

4. The Mapped Texture Stereogram.

5. The Mapped Texture Stereogram is added about the Hidden Image Stereogram. Bleach transparency removes the black and leaves white lines which make the hidden image clearer.

Seven photos across the top each photographed in 1/4" increments.

I can see the image in both bottom images of your first post. It still escapes me but I'm slow. The first image seems to be a mask/alpha channel type image. The lined image (#2) helps to clarify the image in the steriogram?

It doesn't matter...I like the mystery. I'm one of those people who doesn't want to know how the magician creates his magic because I like being surprised and fascinated. I enjoy watching you create.

Nancy - There are two different kinds of stereograms merged together. The white lines help define the hidden image while the hidden image provides the 3D solid version of the image.

I agree with Burpee except that having been a semi-professional magician my self I do want to know how the tricks are done. That in no way detracts form my appreciation of a good performance however, in fact I appreciate it all the more because I understand the skill, knowledge, dedication, imagination, and everything else it takes for a job well done.
Well done Gary!

In 5, I'm having a bit of a problem where the images overlap/intersect - it looks like the elements that overlap are separated from the other parts.

I love these things.

Go figure, number 5 looks the deepest and clearest to me.

I looked again and saw what I did in my previous post - two compasses, overlapping with the overlap in front of the pair. I moved my computer slightly, rubbed my eyes, tried again. Now all I can see (I've tried several times over) is one compass (plus six floating black compasses, two at the back) - perfect.

I dunno what happened the first couple of goes - go figure is right.

All of us have a different set of peepers and they seem to do what they want, lol.
