Thumbnail preview in folders not working in Vista 64 bit?

Hiya

Been awhile. Busy busy busy with life and everything . Hope all is well in everyone's life.

I have a little issue. The thumbnail view is not working for .xar files in Vista Home Premium. I got a new system that totally rocks and Vista is now my default OS, XP is put to bed. It's a 64 bit system, not sure if that makes any difference. I don't think it would.

Oh and it's a quad core system, 9 series nVidia graphics card with 8 gigs of DDR2 RAM and with a 64 bit system I see all 8 gigs. WOOT! Renders that used to take 10 hours are done in under 2. NICE!

Anyway. I really would love to know if this is a known bug in X Pro or if there is a fix or something I need to do to enable a thumbnail preview in the folders???

Have you set the View for the folder to Medium Icons (or better)?

Yup, I have all my folders set up to display Medium or larger thumbnail icons.

I had that problem ages ago. I think turning off Vistas UAC sorted it out for me. ( A lot of other apps were happire too)

UAC was one of the first things I turned off when I got this Vista box since I have it already on my laptop at work!

I assume you have thumbnails for other file types, so this isn't likely the cause, but you can try toggling the setting to see if anything kicks-in.

Also, I seem to recall a case of the missing thumbnails when an earlier version of Xtreme was also installed on a PC 'after' X4.

Anyway, I'd simply remove X4 and reinstall it as admin to make sure the registry entires are correctly written.
