D gets my vote. The glass looks really good. Although it looks easy to do, a lot of work must have gone into it.

There are larger versions of the creations here:
http://site.xara.com/news/july08/com..._shortlist.asp which shows up the finer details. I was going to vote for C but the shadows, especially the ring shadows, don't seem to correlate quite correctly. However, there is good fine detail in the main object. Then I looked at B again and saw at the base of the H splashed dust/sand going up the sides of the H. Also, there's great reflections in the H and the other letters. Finally the coloured balls just give it that je ne sais qua (sp?). All of the final five each have some admirable quality when studied though. |

It's C for me. Good composition, it's transparent and the overall look pleases me.
