    Default Fills

Is it possible to retain the fill object size when enlarging the enclosure.
What I mean is if one has a wall filled with bricks then increase the size of the wall the bricks increase as well instead of retaining there previous size, that is they scale up as well.
I use Pro for building model railway structures and need to retain the fill scale if I change the object size.

Sorry my first response was wrong. I misread your post. Apologies
I think the only way to retain the fill scale would be to remove the fill before resizing the object shape, then reapply the fill.

Perhaps someone else knows a trick?

    Hi,

Downsizing is easier, through the use of clipview

    -Create a large rectangle,create a small rectangle on top(topleft)
-Put guides along the small rectangle(apply snap to guides)
-Give the large rectangle a fill
-Now ctrl+drag the fill handles(not the object handles) so it fits the guides

-Put the smaller rectangle behind the larger one and apply clipview
If you need to adjust the size of the object, ctrl+click the topleft keyhole
    and drag the handles.

You'll see the fill remains the same but the object size changes

You can try this too. Click twice on the filled object with the Fill Tool.

The image resolution will appear on the Infobar at the top of the page.

    Remember this number.

Resize your object, click twice on the bitmap-filled object again with the Fill Tool and change the resolution amount and press Enter.

In the old days (pre 3.2) you could copy the fill and paste attributes and the fill resolution would be the same. But sadly, this no longer works.

    Call it progress.

View this thread for additional information: You can edit the registry to return to the previous fill behavior. Not sure if that helps but you can always try it.

I am assuming that you are re-scaling the rectangle by pulling out one of the sides or corner. If you press down the minus key while you pull out on the handle, the object rescales but not the size of the bricks.

Bingo. I knew that. And I promptly forgot it.

Need to add that to the Tips page.

Excellent Judi! Another hidden modifier... I felt there could be one, but would not have thought of the minus key..
    Thanks for posting
