I need some idea please: Logo Design

I'm trying to design a logo depicting "IntellineXus", an integration of the word Intelligent and Nexus(connection) with a dark blue as shown and black/white, orange as colors in it. The aim is to connect everything related to knowledge intelligently including connecting people. I know my description is a bit abstract but please help me out...

Actually, IntellineXus has an X right? I'm trying to use X as a connection between minds or something... I would've used some royalty free images for a brain or something but I'm trying for a complete vector based logo because I want the final image to be scalable for any size so that even if I print banners, it'll scale to that size...

Orange was just a color of choice...There's no compulsion of using it... I took the above idea and came up with a little modified version... Can I have some suggestions on it please?

Constuctive (hopefully) and friendly criticism..
Looks a bit like an eye test to me.
It's very easy to 'over think' when designing a logo. Successfull logos are very simplistic and leave an impression. They communicate via form, colour and language. Currently yours just looks like alphabet soup and very out of balance.

Play with some alternative fonts and try to look for less rather than more, leave room for peoples imaginations, a logo shouldn't do all the work for them.

maybe use the words knowledge & guild?? balance will be off but... use the words to creat the "X"

Thank you so much sledger... That was an inspiring article... The designers' world is so huge... I know my designs are naive and primitive but I would really love to improve them... Yes only after you told me I realized that my version looked like a jumble game ... I'm posting a revised version (I know the next version should look better than the previous one but I'm still a beginner so its just an attempt to make it better) according to the suggestion given by geminiguy:



Once the nexus part is done, I'll look into the intelli part... Or maybe I should leave intelli like that... As for the fonts, I guess once the concept is clear to me, I'll start experimenting...

As an experiment, and due to my part time involvment in the sign industry I've gone with your brief (connections) and shown an idea I might start with.
This could be thrown out completely by the time a design is accepted by a customer, but it's a start and can help connect the conceptual dot's.
