I use MS Word at work and at home because it is the program of choice by my employer and most businesses.

After using MS Word for so many years, I'm getting too old to learn a different program.

I use MS word only when a client sends me a word document. Other than this I use XXP or notepad.

I use something else to draw with, create flyers/signs/postcards/ad. I use wordpad for most text...

I use word when a client sends me something in word or I need a quickie form letter type o thing. If it needs to look good or not have lots of extraneous junk I usually use anything else.

I used to use Lotus WordPro - even 12 years ago, its capabilities generally exceeded what Microsoft could manage. However, as it looks like it is no longer being developed, I gave in and moved to Word 2007. It is still lacking some critical functionality I had become accustomed to using, and if it weren't for the fact that no one else makes anything that other people can generally read...

I use OpenOffice. Since OpenOffice can read and write MS Word documents as well export to PDF and many other formats, there's really no need to pay money for MS Office. Just download a copy of OpenOffice from www.openoffice.org if you're running on Windows, Linux or Solaris, or use NeoOffice if you're on a Mac.

I use Open Office, which can read and export MS doc files.

Cool Re: Do you use MS Word, or an alternative word processor?

I first bought Word in 1984! Everyone else was using Word Star. I've grown as the program has grown (sadly) and it's just too late for me to start with something new.
